WITTENSTEIN Ltd (formerly alpha gearheads Ltd) manufacture, sell & support an extensive range of precision in-line & right angled servo gearboxes / gearheads from 1 arcmin to 10,000Nm, utilising planetary/bevel & worm gear technology. Wittenstein also offer rotary & linear servo actuators specialised ultra high performance servo motors, zero backlash flexible couplings, torque limiters, pulley drives, ballscrews & high precision rack & pinion systems. Wittenstein design aid software, special modified products & comprehensive technical help. Drives, controls and positional accuracy are areas which require maximum precision and the products manufactured by Wittenstein are setting benchmarks worldwide in the fields of mechanical engineering and drive technology.

The name change of alpha gearheads Ltd to Wittenstein Ltd was implemented on July 1st 2008 as part of our global strategy for all subsidiaries of Wittenstein AG to come together under one brand name.

Wittenstein strive to fulfil demanding requirements and think beyond the limits. Wittenstein develop products for machine tools and manufacturing systems, food and packaging machines, wood processing machines, printing and paper machines, robotics and automation. In addition, Wittenstein supply standard industrial gearboxes for basic applications, Wittenstein also manufacture specials. The Wittenstein specials are bespoke products including washdown gearboxes, food grade grease and vacuum application products. Along with these bespoke products Wittenstein also have a machine and repair workshop where gearheads can be modified to suit customer requirements including the ability to mimic competing gearheads, serviced and repaired.
